Wang Jiyan, once a journalist, grew up and lived in Inner Mongolia. The, for over 20 years, he worked and taught at the Beijing Broadcasting Institute. As a professor of television and Deputy Dean of the Institute, Wang Jiyan is widely renowned as "The Dean” across the television industry in China.
Wang Jiyan then joined Phoenix in Hong Kong in 1996 and is now Executive Vice President of Phoenix Satellite Television and Head of the Phoenix Chinese Channel.
Wang Jiyan thinks of his place in photography as "An amateur among professionals and a professional among amateurs".
